Eating Clean – The Wendy Alves Way!

Wendy Alves NutritionI’ve really been thinking lately about this whole clean eating trend and a lot of what I’ve been reading about it makes sense, so I’ve decided to give it a go! I’m not going to label what I’m doing as Whole 30 Diet or Paleo Diet but I’m definitely going to try and limit sugars, processed food, dairy, alcohol and carbs. Wow, when I write it out it sure sounds like it’s going to be a challenge, but I guess if it was easy everyone would be doing it!

The funny thing is I’m not doing it to try and lose weight or anything. I just keep reading about all these fantastic results that people are experiencing like more energy, clearer skin, clearer mind, deeper sleep and just an overall better mood, all of which sound fantastic. So I’ve bought a few books on the topic all of which come with delicious looking, simple recipes. It’s a good thing that I love to cook because otherwise I don’t see how this would be possible.

I’m going to wait until the start of June to really begin in earnest so that gives me some time to start slowly weaning myself from putting milk in my coffee in the morning. Believe it or not, I think that is going to be the hardest part for me! I’m going to experiment the next couple of days to see if I can make the switch to green tea but I don’t think that’s going to cut it. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll have to get used to almond milk in my morning cup of joe. Otherwise, I think it will be tough and challenging but doable. I’ll keep you all posted of my results as I begin my clean eating adventure. Thanks for reading!
